DfE School Support Offer for 2019/20

In summary, the offer provides:

  • up to 3 days of National Leaders of Education support for schools categorised by OfSTED as “requires improvement” (Tier 1);
  • plus up to £16,000 of funded support for schools which have been twice categorised by OfSTED as “requires improvement” (Tier 2);
  • or up to £24,000 of funded support for those that have been repeatedly categorised as “requires improvement” or “inadequate” since 2005 (Tier 3).

The support for schools will be organised by your regional Teaching Schools Council (TSC). The TSC will be arranging the NLE support throughout the academic year. Please be aware that in order to schedule this level of NLE support, some schools will receive their support in the summer term. The funded support follows on from the NLE support.

We’d like to make sure that you’re aware that these are optional offers of support. There is no obligation on the school to accept the support offer. This will be a decision for the school’s governing body. However, we encourage any school to speak to their local TSC to discuss their circumstances and fully explore the options available before deciding not to take up the support. Some schools may be approached in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the programme.

The is an NLE event that is being hosted locally on 4th October at The Banks’s Stadium, Walsall.
