New versions of Statutory Guidance for schools

The Department for Education has announced routine updates to the statutory guidance for schools on careers guidance and access for education and training providers. The updates include:

  • More information on new requirements for schools to publish information about their careers programmes and Careers Leader contact details to their website
  • More information about the roles and responsibilities of Careers Leaders
  • Details about The Careers & Enterprise Company’s new SEND Gatsby Benchmark Toolkit

There has also been a new guidance note published – Destinations data good practice guide – explaining what destination data is, how it is measured and how the data can be used to improve careers provision for young people.

We hope you’ve had a good half-term break and are looking forward to the rest of the academic year.
 
Following our recent email outlining how we can help you in your role as a Careers Leader, we wanted to update you on our new online training. This training is free and available to all Careers Leaders and will support you to deliver high quality careers education to your young people.

 

We also have news of some recent updates including:

  • Increased number of funded training bursaries available
  • Updates made to the statutory guidance for schools on careers guidance
  • The results from Youth Voice Census

We look forward to continuing to work with you this year to support you in your role to deliver consistent best practice careers support for your young people.
