Sports Clubs in Walsall
Signpost children to a local sports club that is accredited by Walsall Council Sport & Leisure Department as being safe, child friendly, and effectively ran.
Walsall Council is committed to supporting voluntary sector sports clubs within the borough to improve the provision of opportunities for young people and adults to participate in sport in a safe and effective sporting environment.
The aim of the Sports Club Standard (S.C.S.) is to improve the quality of the provision of sports clubs with a junior section within the borough of Walsall. The S.C.S. sets out the basic operating standards that a sports club within Walsall should have in place. The S.C.S. will be administered in conjunction with, but lies beneath Sport England’s Clubmark and equivalent National Governing Body (NGB) accreditation schemes for sports clubs. The criterion for achievement of the Sports Club Standard is in line with that of Clubmark (and equivalent NGB schemes).
For more information on any of our accredited clubs, or to find out a club can become accredited, please contact Stuart Webb on 01902 605500 or webbs@walsall.gov.uk
